Multidisciplinary approach
The Master’s degree in European and International Studies is a multidisciplinary course that brings together students from disciplines as diverse as foreign languages, communication, history, law, economics, management, political science…
Professionalization
In addition, the Master places particular emphasis on the practice of modern languages and in particular the mastery of English. The international training environment favors this objective.
At the centre: Europe
Beyond the specific objectives of each course, the common feature is in the ability of students, whatever their profile, to master the European environment in its main dimensions (legal, cultural, political, historical, economic, financial).
European Union law
Complete competences on the legal questions relating to the European construction, its stakes and its environment.
International Public Relations
Ability to implement communication strategies within companies, organizations and institutions.
Management, finance and strategies of companies in Europe
A course of study on financial management, development and financing of international companies.
Local authorities and European Union
Ability to involve local and regional authorities in European cohesion and structural programs.

Slovakia – Master’s degree in European Studies – “Management and strategies of companies in Europe” course
This Franco-Slovak university programme of the CEU has existed for 10 years (created in 2010), with several cooperations:
Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica – Faculty of Economics
Comenius University of Bratislava – Faculty of Management
Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica – Faculty of Economics
Constantine the Philosopher University of Nitra – Faculty of Arts
The CEU has been offering an original and multidisciplinary approach to teaching European and international issues for 70 years.
This study programme allows Slovak students (and of course students from other countries) to obtain a Master’s degree from the French University complementary to the Slovak Master’s degree (a Slovak Master’s degree and a Master’s degree from the University of Lorraine). The courses take place in Slovakia.
Who is it for?
This study programme is open to all students with a university degree (Slovakia, Europe and outside Europe) preparing a Master’s degree in a Slovak partner faculty, and to professionals with a Master’s degree in Management, speaking French (refresher programmes are offered).
Description of the courses
In the first semester of the Master 1, students are taught European economic and financial, legal and geopolitical issues. In the second semester of the M1, students are taught a multidisciplinary course in management sciences (corporate finance, financial economics, corporate governance, marketing, human resources management, etc.) in a European and international environment.
In Master 2, students are taught financial management, international business development and financing, European company strategies and European regulations, human resources management in an intercultural context, etc.
For more details, please refer to the M1 and M2 syllabuses.
Several courses are taught by teacher-researchers from the University of Lorraine and professionals in management and finance (who come to Slovakia).
Job opportunities and professional integration
This course provides access to a wide range of opportunities and professions (advisor in financing and development of companies in Europe, researcher in development of SMEs in Europe, junior auditor in accounting and finance, researcher in national or European institutions, etc.).
Over the past 10 years, this cooperation has graduated 86 students in Master 2 and 70 students in Master 1, who work in large international companies, due in particular to two very important differentiating factors: mastery of the French language and the completion of two Masters degrees (Slovak and French).
